The modification of the greek tourism product is a constant and permanent issue. We all agree to the point that Greece should not be restricted to the common “sea and sun” tourism product promotion. Greece should communicate abroad, the variety of its integrated tourism products. Government and tourism entrepreneurs accept and agree to fact described above.
The tourism strategy development and implementation should be supported by business case studies and scientific research and documentation. Attending the International Meeting & Incentives Conference since 2004, when was fist organized, we realize that IMIC, considers congresses and incentives as valuable and competitive tourism products, contributing towards the right direction for our economy.
Unfortunately, the private sector efforts are not enough in order Greece to accomplish the maximum of its capabilities. Public sector should and must contribute through EOT and the Ministry of Tourism, working on a specific and tested model, which is the EOT evolution to a high expectations Marketing oriented Organization.
Participating to the IMIC related initiatives and activities and communicating the Congress conclusions is a way to support the Incentives and Congress organization, as part of our tourism culture.
We wish all the success to the Congress.

President of the Association of the Greek Tourism Enterprises
